This is our frequently asked questions page, where you can find relevant answers to the most common questions that our office receives. How will I know if services are covered ?
Although we might accept certain insurance plans, that does not mean your services will be covered. Each insurance carrier can have a wide variety of plans under say UPMC and still have different levels of coverage within those plans. Therefore, we encourage all individuals to either reach out to their insurance carrier to see if both Heather Pavlinsky and the Innovative Wellness and Weight-loss Center are in-network, to ensure all requesting services will be covered.
If you are interested in coming for our medical weight-loss program, and your insurance says we are in-network, we still require you to pay the initial consultation fee and then we will provide you with a reimbursement claim to submit to your insurance to ensure they are covering the visits as they promised. This rule is to prevent you from receiving a large bill and to ensure that the insurance company will pay our facility for the services.
Please Note: Although Heather Pavlinksy and our facility may be in-network, that does not guarantee coverage. Insurance companies base coverage on other factors and considerations such as medical necessity.
If you are not in-network and/or I am uninsured can I still come to your facility?
Yes, we do offer fixed pricing for patients that would still like to be seen at our office. Additionally, if you would need to set up a payment plan ahead of time, kindly reach out to the office and we will work to accommodate your needs!
What is your cancellation policy?
Although we understand that emergencies can happen, we kindly ask that individuals provide us with at-least a 24-hour notice if they are unable to keep their appointment. If the 24-hour notice is not given and/or an individual does not show for the scheduled in-office appointment, a $50 missed fee will be drafted out of the individual's account. We do require a credit card on file to implement this policy. However, if you would prefer to set-up a different payment plan, it is your responsibility to advise the front desk.
If a new patient to the practice misses and does not provide a 24-hour notice, that individual will have to pay the missed fee before he or she is able to reschedule.
If I am interested in multiple services from your facility, do I schedule separate appointments?
In the event that you are interested in other services under the supervision of Heather Pavlinsky, it is your responsibility to advise the front desk when scheduling. This is to ensure that we are blocking enough time in the schedule for Heather. Our office cannot guarantee that there will be enough time in her schedule for an individual to be seen for multiple services at one appointment. However, we will try our best to discover a date and time that accommodates everyone's schedule.

What are your COVID-19 Regulations?
1) All Individuals who feel ill and/or recently exposed to someone with COVID-19 must make the office aware of this and either schedule a virtual visit or reschedule their appointment to a later date.
2) In accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, we REQUIRE all individuals to wear a mask upon entering and leaving the facility.
If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, kindly advise the front desk before the appointment and we will accommodate your needs the best we can. If Heather is not your PCP, we ask that you bring a medical note from your doctor explaining your condition for documentation purposes.
3) Please limit the amount of individuals coming to the appointment, as we are trying to limit the amount of exposure for both our staff and other patients that may be waiting to be seen. In the event that another individual would need to accompany the patient to his or her appointment, please make the front desk aware of this so we can plan accordingly.
4) Individuals that have recently traveled are required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health to quarantine for a 10 day period if they do not have a negative pcr covid-19 test. If you have been traveling, please let our facility know this before coming into your appointment. We do offer COVID-19 testing, therefore, we would be able to perform the test and then move your appt back until your results come in.
